The Amateur Newspaper

For the first time in history, the outdoor World Championships were held in the United States. We wanted to make the most of this special moment by producing a newspaper - something permanent - for all fans and spectators in Eugene to hold onto. Call it old school, but we couldn’t think of a better way for you when sitting in Hayward’s stands to have the most up-to-date facts and engaging stories in your hands.

Over ten days, with a team over fourteen talented writers, we printed three editions of the Amateur and a total of 33,000 copies - to deliver to track and field fans. Below, we’ve archived our top stories of the best athletes in the world and what makes them an amateur at heart.
